Our next speaker profile for this year’s TEDxKraków is the Central and Eastern European correspondent and deputy editor of the International section for The Economist, Edward Lucas. His work at The Economist has taken him around the region, including Russia, where he served as the Moscow Bureau Chief from 1998 to 2002. Luckily for us, it also means he speaks Polish as well as four other languages from the region.
As an expert on this part of the world, he has uniquely valuable insights into the political and economic climate of the former communist countries and how developments here will affect the West. During TEDxKraków, Edward Lucas will talk about Eastern Europe – a concept that never really existed, doesn’t exist now and certainly shouldn’t exist in our „new normal” future. His aim is persuade everyone at the talk to stop using it.
