Videos > Maciej Cader - The role of mosquitoes in the cleansing of the oceans

About the talk:

Passionate about control engineering and robotics, Maciej graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology with a specialisation in robotics. He now works at the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements on the construction of mobile robots and their simulation in advanced computer systems. The natural world is a rich source of potential solutions to engineering problems, and his mobile robots frequently draw from the motor and sensory actions of animals. His talk features images of robots that have been build at the Institute and inspired by caterpillars, crabs, snakes and mosquitoes, showing that even these smallest of animals can play a huge role environmental protection.

Recorded during: TEDxKraków 2011

About the speaker:

... control engineering and robotics are his passion. In his presentation he will focus on the robots based on the motor skills of caterpillars, crabs, snakes and mosquitoes, which he has been working on at the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements.
