Videos > Waldemar Domański - Zostan Miotaczem Idei

About the talk:

Waldemar Domański is a local councillor and has many projects under his belt. He comes to TEDxKraków in his role as the founder and co-organizer of Kraków's hugely popular "singing lessons". The first took place in Kraków in November 2002 and to date, over 250,000 people have taken part. People come from near and far to take part in the singing lessons, and they come away with an experience of social community and togetherness. Waldemar's goal is to promote modern patriotism through songs and singing; as he says "it doesn't have to be all about suffering". In 2007 he set up the digital LIbrary of Polish Song and it now has over 60,000 records including over 2,000 biographies of writers and their music, as well as the stories of bands and performers and the origins of the songs.

Recorded during: TEDxKraków 2013
