We’ll be getting together to watch TEDTalks and TEDx talks and sharing the TED experience with Kraków

Why TEDTalks?

We’d like to create a comfortable space in Kraków for creative debates about the role of technology, education, human behaviour in creating a more harmonious future, where ideas are the source of intelligent and constructive collaboration rather than conflict.

This month

New year, new plans, new resolutions and the kick off of our monthly TEDxKraków @ Cinema. The January event once again attracted a large group of participants.
During the event, we saw three great TED talks. The first speech was from TEDxHouston - Brene Brow shared her insights concerning the results of her research focused on human sensitivity. Event participants discussed about sensitivity and re-shaping of our personalities. Although for many it was a familiar topic, for some it gave an opportunity to reflect on their own sensitivity.

Referring to the theme of this year’s TEDxKraków "Make,” we watched the speech of Candy Chang, a TEDFellow speaker. Death means end of life, which happens eventually to all of us. That's why she decided to share her idea of ​​how to turn depressing feelings into social actions. She set up a huge billboard on an abandoned house in a New Orleans’ neighborhood and wrote on it "Before I die, I want ...". The responses from residents were surprising, touching, and sometimes even funny.

The last speech on Tuesday night was a talk given by Larry Smith, a very charismatic speaker. He talked about why not everyone can have a great career and raise to the top quickly. He didn’t spare anyone in his speech as we continue to replicate each other’s errors. But does everyone seek a successful career? Some of our participants did and some didn’t think so. For some, achieving success in life is all about their professional life, but for others it’s about raising a family. What do you think?
