With less than two weeks to go until TEDxKraków 2012, we’re down to our final round of speakers!
Wojciech Macyk is someone that bacteria should be afraid of! A chemist and a professor at the Jagiellonian University, he explores the processes that take place in the presence of light and a catalyst and finds uses for them. So far Wojciech and his team have found applications for air, water and surface purification, bacteria inactivation and they’re dreaming of photo-activated drugs. Recently, he received the prestigious TEAM grant from the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) for a project titled ‘The activation of small molecules in photocatalytic systems’ so the future for him and his team of young researchers looks very bright!
