With the kick off meeting for TEDxKraków only a couple of days away, you might be wondering what to expect. So here’s a bit more about what’s going to happen
The starting point is that we think that there’s so much that could be done with and around TED and TEDxKraków and we’re wondering what such a community of like-minded people could look like in our city. We’ve already got a few ideas but we’re sure you will have many more, so we’re going to use Open Space Technology to see what we can come up with together.

What do we mean by community?
We mean a group of people who share an interest but beyond that, it’s an open question! Some of us want to get involved in making TEDxKraków happen on 20 October, while others are keen to bring TED Talks into Kraków’s schools or have been inspired by a TED talk and want to do something about it. Everyone is welcome so if you think this sounds interesting, come along and help us shape it.
Who should come?
Anyone who’s based in Kraków and is interested in the potential of TED, TEDxKraków and the spreading of ideas worth spreading.
Who shouldn’t come?
The nature of the Open Space process means that this isn’t an event for people who need a controlled agenda or aren’t willing to take responsibility for the things they care about. And because of the way that the process is organised, it only works if you’re there from start to finish. Sorry! If you can’t promise that, then don’t worry – there will be other opportunities to get involved!
What will happen?
Open Space follows a simple but effective process. We’ll ask everyone who has an idea for the community to describe it briefly. We’ll then split up into groups so that we can discuss all the ideas. These discussions and the recommendations and actions will be written up and we’ll then email them to everyone who attends. By the end of the meeting, we want to have identified who will be working on each idea and the next steps for the most important projects.
Practicalities
We’ll be meeting on the ground floor space of the Jewish Community Centre on ul. Miodowa 24 in Kazimierz, on Wednesday 25 May.
We will start promptly at 5.30pm and finish at 8.30pm. Please bring a notebook and pen or pencil. If you have a laptop with wifi, that would also be useful!
See you there!
