Videos > Monika Koperska - Applying science to protect art

About the talk:

Monika spoke at the first edition of TEDxKids@Kraków which took place on 20 September 2012 at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow. Our theme was "Passion Lives" and we asked our young speakers to share their passions with us.

Recorded during: TEDxKids@Kraków 2012

About the speaker:

As a PhD student in the Chemistry Department of the Jagiellonian University, Monika studies the chemistry of conservation, i.e. that bit of chemistry that applies to the preservation of our cultural heritage, from the most precious paintings to old books. In 2012, Monika was voted winner of the Polish edition of Famelab, a competition to popularise science, and went on to represent Poland in the international final in the UK.
