We don’t want TEDxKraków to be a one-off event which happens just once a year and then you have to wait another 12 months for the next one. We think that there are lots of ways that we could build on the ideas behind TED and we want to make this happen here in Kraków.

So to get us started, we set up a meeting at the Jewish Community Centre on Ul. Miodowa in Kazimierz for everyone who has ideas for growing the TEDxKraków community and the energy to help make it happen. We were looking for people who want to help make TEDxKraków a great day and for people who want to get involved in making things happen throughout the year.

We used Open Space Technology to organise the meeting so all people had to bring with them were ideas and enthusiasm.

About 20 people turned up and we had a great session brainstorming ideas for how to develop TEDxKraków into a real community-led initiative. Ideas that came out of this were organising TEDxKrakówLive, promoting TEDxKraków to the local music scene and engaging with universitites and student groups.
