TEDxKrakówCinema - a new initiative from TEDxKraków
We’ll be getting together to watch TEDTalks and TEDx talks and sharing the TED experience with Kraków
Each time we will focus on a different topic.
Why TEDTalks?
We’d like to create a comfortable space in Kraków for creative debates about the role of technology, education, human behaviour in creating a more harmonious future, where ideas are the source of intelligent and constructive collaboration rather than conflict.
This month
Our guest at December's TEDxKrakówCinema will be Richard Lucas, who many of you will remember from the TEDxKraków stage where he presented his favourite TED Talk (Benjamin Zander's talk on the transformative power of classical music). As the end of the year is a time for reflection, he's posed a question that is sure to get you thinking; is the world we live in making progress? Will tomorrow be better than today and will 2014 be better than 2013?
The pace of technological change is accelerating thanks to the ever increasing ease with which ideas spread, and the ever lower cost of adopting new technologies. Our three TED talks are going to be touch on the need for scientific method and the 'right' way to carry out research, humility, and whether (and how) trade and technology can set us free.
Richard's a big fan of getting people to talk to each other, so we will have icebreaker integration events both before and during the event designed to help you interact and get to know new people. Please come with a positive mental attitude and be ready to talk to people you don't know.
We'll be at Kino Pauza (2nd floor, ul. Floriańska 18) at 7pm but Richard will be running some icebreakers at 6.30pm to help everyone get to know eachother. Entry is free and the meeting will be held in English and Polish.
