TEDxKraków presents the very first TEDxKraków Award! http://tedxkrakow.com/blog/en/2012/07/30/tedxkrak%c3%b3w-presents-the-very-first-tedxkrak%c3%b3w-award/ http://tedxkrakow.com/blog/en/2012/07/30/tedxkrak%c3%b3w-presents-the-very-first-tedxkrak%c3%b3w-award/#comments Mon, 30 Jul 2012 08:35:49 +0000 Anna Spysz http://tedxkrakow.com/blog/?p=887 Continue reading ]]> While we’re already quite excited about this year’s upcoming TEDxKraków (which you can already register for, by the way), we have yet another reason to be thrilled: this year, one person on our stage will be the winner of the very first TEDxKraków Award!

But what is the TEDxKraków Award, you ask? It’s a competition for ideas organised in cooperation with Krakow Technology Park’s Seed Fund as a part of the “Upriser” project. It’s a chance for you, our audience, to join the ranks of the speakers and share your idea with the world. In short, we’re betting that you yourself have an idea worth spreading!

We’re looking for interesting ideas and initiatives that could change the future – both local and global. If you can’t get a great idea for a start-up, an innovative solution, a social initiative (or something else) out of your thoughts, submit it for the Award! The finalists will be invited to take part in workshops to polish their idea (led by experts in their fields such as Marek Przystaś, Kuba Krzych, Mona Szychowiak, Paweł Tkaczyk, Paweł Sala and Łukasz Cioch), and the winner will get 6 minutes on the TEDxKraków stage to send their idea out into the world. Our films have clocked up over 600,000 views so far, so who knows where this could lead?

If this sounds like something you just have to do, please follow the steps below:

  1. Record a short film about your idea and submit it
  2. Fill in the form and record a 1-minute film (no more please!) about your idea and send it to us. You can apply alone or with someone else, but remember that applications will only be accepted until 17 August, so don’t hang around!

  3. Take part in the workshops
  4. We’ll choose the 6 most interesting ideas and will invite their creators to workshops run over 3 days by our mentors. We’ll work on:
    - your strategy and concept
    - PR and marketing
    - public speaking and communication

  5. Present your idea at TEDxKrakow 2012
  6. Our jury will choose the best idea which will hit the TEDxKrakow stage on 21 September. The winner will have 6 minutes to present their idea. Go on. Take a chance!
